Debut album “Dehumanized” released!

November 12th is here and that means only one thing: The debut album by Finnish Melodic Deathmetal band Sigyn is now released!

“When the band split in 2011, alot of half-finished songs were left on the table. They haunted us for years.

Finally when the time felt right in 2022 @markussuomela and @akylaz started the band again with new lineup.

We had new material already, but for us they sounded too different and modern compared to the old songs, so it was decided to release ALL the old songs as a collection, to clean the table, and get them out from our system

4 songs from our first demo (2010) were left almost as is, only minor changes were made. With completely new lyrics the songs would later be known as Dehumanized, The Raven, Pain Before The Void and Torment Of The Trickster God.

Rest of the album was tricky. None of the other songs were complete, so they had to be re-arranged with new riffs to fill in what was missing. We had to imagine ourselfs 15 years younger and think what kind of songwriting decisions we would have made back then.

We recorded the drums at Studio Vaskis and all the rest at our rehearsal place.We truly think we pulled it off!” – Markus Suomela
