Sigyn´s music is inspired and influenced by the late 90´s and early 2000´s Finnish metal scene and Nordic bands such as Norther, Arch Enemy, Wintersun, Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir and many others.
Originally formed in 2008, Sigyn´s first lineup lasted until 2011. During these years, Sigyn composed an album worth of material, played some live shows, and released an EP titled “Cursed”. (2010)

The “Cursed” EP received some good reviews (especially the 4/5 one from Imperiumi´s Mape Ollila warmed some hearts).
Still the bands split was inevitable when the members were pushed into separate directions by studies, military service, and first real jobs.

Finally when the time felt right in the fall of 2022, Markus Suomela and Aki Saastamoinen decided it was time to start the band again. Sigyn activated again with a new lineup, and started working with the old, unreleased material first.
4 songs from “Cursed” EP were kept almost as is, and with new lyrics these songs would later be known as “Dehumanized”, “The Raven”, “Pain Before The Void” and “Torment Of The Trickster God”.

In October 2023 Sigyn released a single “The Raven” and a month later November 12th their debut album “Dehumanized, which was raised to Top10 albums of 2023-list by Kaaoszine magazine.

May 2024 Sigyn released a single, “The Real Me” which got some great attention in radio media as well. Radio Helsinki played the song on the release week, and Radio Rock played the song several times during the year.

Currently Sigyn is working with their 2nd full length album, and is eager to bring their music to venues near you!
